Biography:
Dr. PANYaling isResearcher at the Center for American Studies (CAS), Fudan University. Her researches focus on U.S. society and culture, China-U.S. People-to-People Exchanges, U.S. security and foreignpolicy, etc. She has published 5 monographs, 3 edited books, and more than 50 academic papers. Dr.PANis the author ofBack to the Future: On Resurgence of America’s Racism in the 21st Century(Fudan University Press, 2024; in Chinese), The Transformation of American Political Culture and The Impact on Foreign Strategy(Routledge, 2021; in English), Interaction between U.S. Political Culture Transformation and Its Global Strategy Adjustment(Fudan University Press, 2018; in Chinese), Securitization and Evolution of U.S. Strategy towards China in the Post-Cold War Era(Fudan University Press, 2016; in Chinese), Asian-American Lobbies and Sino-U.S. Relationship(Liaoning People’s Publishing House, 2014; in Chinese), American Patriotism and Its Influence on American Foreign Policy(Shanghai People’s Publishing House, 2008; in Chinese).
Dr. PAN got her Ph.D. in international relations from Fudan University in 2007. In the same year, she joined the Center for American Studies(CAS), Fudan University. She worked in Yunnan University fromJune 2019 to March 2026. Since April 2026, she has rejoined CAS, Fudan University as Researcher. From October 2011 to September 2012, she was a senior visiting scholar at St. Anthony’s College, Oxford University.
