The Center for China's Relations with Neighboring Countries Welcomes Vietnamese University Delegation

On August 17th, 2023, the Center for China's Relations with Neighboring Countries at Fudan University (hereinafter referred to as CCRNC) welcomed over 160 faculty members and students from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (hereinafter referred to as USSH).

 

The USSH Delegation toured the Handan campus of Fudan University. They visited the Museum of Fudan History, Arts & Humanities Library, Gymnasium of Northern District, and Center for American Studies, immersing themselves in the research, study, and living environment of Fudan's faculty and students.




During the dialogue session, Professor Zhao Weihua, the director of CCRNC, delivered a welcoming address and provided an overview of the center. He expressed his hopes that the visit would deepen mutual understanding and bolster further collaborations in academic research and student development.



Speaking on behalf of the visiting delegation, Dr. Nguyen Tang Nghi, the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of International Relations at USSH, conveyed his gratitude for the warm reception and arrangements by CCRNC. Emphasizing the enriching experience the trip has provided for the Vietnamese delegation, he articulated hopes for sustained academic exchanges and expanded collaboration opportunities in the future. Dr. Nguyen also extended an invitation to CCRNC's faculty and students to visit Vietnam.



Researchers from CCRNC, including Qi Huaigao, Xue Song, and Wen Yao, presented on China's foreign policy concerning its neighboring countries.

 

Fudan's international alumni, Mariia German and Ha Van Luc, also took the opportunity to share their experiences of studying at Fudan University.


The dialogue was vibrant with the visiting students posing numerous questions. They engaged in animated discussions with Fudan's faculty and students on various topics, notably China's foreign policy concerning neighboring countries and Fudan's policies for international students.

 

Assistant Dean Zhang Ping and Assistant Professor He Jiajie from Fudan University's School of International Relations and Public Affairs and Assistant Professor Yan Shaohua from the Institute of International Studies at Fudan University also participated in the exchanges.
