Prof. Wu Xinbo Joined the CPIFA Delegation to the United States

  Prof. Wu Xinbo, Dean of the Institute of International Studies and Director of the Center for American Studies at Fudan University, traveled to New York, the United States, with the Chinese People's Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA) Delegation, November 8-14, 2022. In New York, Prof. Wu Xinbo met with former government officials and economic leaders to discuss China-U.S. bilateral issues.

  Led by Mr. Wang Chao, President of the CPIFA, the delegation included Dr. Chen Deming, former Minister of Commerce, Dr. Qiu Yuanping, former Minister of the State Council's Office for Overseas Chinese Affairs and former Executive Deputy Director of the Central Office on Foreign Affairs, Dr. Ning Jizhe, former Vice Chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission, Amb. Cui Tiankai, former Chinese Ambassador to the U.S., Dr. Zhu Min, former Deputy Governor of the People's Bank of China, Dr. Yu Jianlong, Vice Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of the International Trade. Ambassador Qin Gang held a meeting with the CPIFA Delegation. 

  On November 14, the delegation attended the Fourth Meeting of the US-China Eminent Persons Forum jointly held by the CPIFA and the US-China Transpacific Foundation (UCTPF). Members of the U.S. delegation include Amb. Sigmund Rogich, Chairman of the Boards of the UCTPF, Amb. Bill Richardson, former Governor of New Mexico, Gen. Richard Myers, former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Mr. Randall Rader, former Chief Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, Amb. Timothy Roemer, former U.S. Ambassador to India, Mr. Stephen Rademaker, former Assistant Secretary of State for International Security and Nonproliferation, Rep. Charles Boustany, former U.S. House Representative from Louisiana, and Mr. Martin Gold, Chair of Government Affairs Practice of the Covington & Burling LLP.

  From Novmeber 15-19, Prof. Wu Xinbo traveled to Washington D.C.. He exchanged with experts and scholars from the Brookings Institution, the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS)and etc., and attended an academic event hosted by Georgetown University. He met with Rick Waters, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for China, U.S. Department of State, and Mr. Jing Quan, Minister of the Embassy and discussed the bilateral relationship.
