Fudan University and UC San Diego initiated the mechanism of the China-U.S. University Think Tank Dialogue in 2016. This dialogue brings together Chinese and American scholars and policy experts to examine how the U.S-China relationship can be managed productively and safely. Speakers will draw on their research to examine the current administration’s policy, contemporary challenges, ways of promoting cooperation, lessons from the recent and more distant past, as well as prospects for future relations going forward. The dialogue seeks to draw out policy implications from such discussions, leveraging the international pool of talent this dialogue draws upon.

The China-U.S. University Think Tank Dialogue is a vital mechanism to boost high-level China-U.S. bilateral cultural exchange, which is enlisted in the Outcome Lists of both President Xi Jinping's State Visit to the United States in 2015 and the Seventh Round of China-U.S. High-Level Consultation on People-to-People Exchange.
