On April 17th, 2024, the Fifth Symposium on Vietnam Issues and China-Vietnam Relations was held in Wenshan, Yunnan. This seminar was jointly organized by the Center for China’s Relations with Neighboring Countries at Fudan University (CCRNC Fudan), the Institute of Southeast Asia Studies at Yunnan University, the Vietnam Studies Center of Yunnan University, the Office of the Talent Work Leading Group of the CPC Wenshan Committee, the Party School of the CPC Wenshan Committee, and the Wenshan Vietnam Cooperation and Exchange Research Center. Over 50 experts and scholars from more than 20 institutes across the country attended the event. Chen Zhicheng, a member of the Standing Committee of the Wenshan Committee and Vice Governor of Wenshan, Professor Zhao Weihua, Director of the CCRNC Fudan, and Professor Zou Chunmeng, Director of the Institute of Southeast Asia Studies at Yunnan University, delivered opening remarks. Keynote speeches were given by Professor Pan Jin'e from the University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Professor Gu Xiaosong, Dean of the ASEAN Research Institute of Hainan Tropical Ocean University, and Professor Yu Xiangdong, Director of the Institute for Vietnam Studies of Zhengzhou University. The experts and scholars attending the symposium engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as Vietnam's politics and diplomacy, China-Vietnam relations, and Vietnam's economy, society, and culture, achieving significant results. The Symposium on Vietnam Issues and China-Vietnam Relations is an annual research conference organized by CCRNC Fudan. It has become an important academic platform for experts and scholars involved in studies of Vietnam-related issues and China-Vietnam relations to share and discuss their latest research findings.
