From April 21 to April 24, 2024, a 17-member delegation led by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC) visited the Pakistan Study Centre of the Institute of International Studies at Fudan University (PSC Fudan). This delegation, comprising nine HEC officials and eight representatives from various Pakistani academic institutes, participated in a collaborative academic event. On April 23, in partnership with the Center for Belt and Road Initiative at Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics, the PSC Fudan organized a seminal seminar titled CPEC Cooperation and Sino-Pak Relations after Pakistan General Election 2024. This event marked a scholarly interaction Pakistan General Election 2024, focusing on the evolving dynamics of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and the broader bilateral relations between the two nations. The seminar was enriched by the participation of eighteen experts from China and Pakistan, who engaged in comprehensive discussions on political, security, economic, and strategic aspects of Sino-Pak relations alongside avenues for higher education collaboration. This event served as the inaugural bilateral academic conference co-hosted by the PSC Fudan and HEC under the auspices of the CPEC Consortium of Universities. Supported by the China Association for Higher Education and the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, the seminar is expected to pave the way for future think tanks and youth dialogues, contributing to cultural exchanges between the two countries. During their visit, the HEC delegation engaged in a series of educational activities, focusing on the development of universities, the integration of industry and education, and the construction of high-tech parks. They visited the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship School of Fudan University, the Zhang Jiang Institute for Industry and Engineering, and the NeoBay-Global Innovation Community of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, gaining insights from experts and research management officials. Since its establishment in 2009, the PSC Fudan has been actively promoting cultural and educational exchanges between China and Pakistan. It has hosted senior diplomats and experts for research stays and facilitated exchanges and cooperation in higher education. The center's strategic partnerships with the China Association for Higher Education and the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan have been crucial in establishing the CPEC Consortium of Universities and the China-Pakistan Higher Education Research Institute, marking it as a cornerstone of academic and cultural collaboration between the two countries.
