Abstract: In recent years, China has introduced “Belt and Road Initiative” as a starting point to upgrade the quality of Sino⁃Latin American relations. At present, the world witnesses great changes with intensifying game between majorcountries and continuous Russia⁃Ukraine conflict. Risks in the international economic environment are mounting. As oneof the regions with the largest number of developing countries in the world, Latin America is an important partner for China to realize a “dual circulation” development pattern and expand South⁃South cooperation. However, the cooperation between China and Latin American is now facing many challenges, such as the intervention and obstruction by the United States and political and economic instability in the region. To cope with these challenges, China and Latin America should not only strengthen communication and coordination and focus on sustainable development and high⁃quality cooperation by taking Global Development Initiative as a guide and Belt and Road Initiative as a platform, but also strive to build mutually beneficial cooperative relations, and a community with a shared future for mankind.
