On the afternoon of May 28, 2024, to celebrate the 119th anniversary of Fudan University, the Center for American Studies at Fudan University (CAS Fudan) hosted the 2024 Annual Academic Report, focusing on Current Frontiers in American Studies. The academic report featured speeches by Assoc. Prof. Sun Ning, Assoc. Prof. Wang Hao, Prof. Zhang Jiadong, Assoc. Prof. Tu Yichao, Prof. Zhou Xiao, and Asst. Prof. Zhang Xueying on topics such as The Puritan Background of American Exceptionalism, Frontier Issues in American Party Politics Research, Polarization or Realignment: Trends in U.S. Domestic Political Development, The 'Global South' and American Religion: An Analysis from the Perspective of Power Reconstruction, Structural Polarization in American New Media Society, and Frontier Research on China-U.S. Competition in International Institutions: A Focus on the United Nations. The academic report was chaired by Prof. Wu Xinbo, Dean of the Institute of International Studies and Director of the Center for American Studies at Fudan University. It attracted over 60 faculty and students from various departments, as well as from other local universities and institutes.
During the interactive session, participants engaged in lively discussions on topics such as UN employment, structural polarization in American new media, political affiliations of American Catholics and Protestants, and future trends in American party reorganization.
At the appointment ceremony for part-time researchers, Prof. Wu Xinbo awarded part-time researcher certificates to Prof. Zhou Xiao from the School of Journalism, Assoc. Prof. Liang Yong from the School of Law, Assoc. Prof. Sun Ning from the School of Philosophy, Prof. Ma Jianbiao and Asst. Prof. Zhang Xueying from the School of International Relations and Public Affairs, Asst. Prof. Yan Shaohua, Prof. Sun Degang, and Prof. Zheng Jiyong from the Institute of International Studies at Fudan University.
