On December 1, 2025, a delegation from the National Committee on American Foreign Policy (NCAFP) visited the Center for American Studies (CAS), Fudan University, for an academic exchange and discussion. The meeting was opened by Professor Wu Xinbo, Director of CAS and Dean of the Institute of International Studies (IIS Fudan), and Susan Thornton, former Acting Assistant Secretary of State of the United States.
The exchange featured a wide-ranging discussion between members of the U.S. delegation—including Raymond Burghardt and Ryan Hass—and CAS scholars Xin Qiang, Song Guoyou, Zhang Jiadong, Wei Zongyou, Cai Cuihong, and Wen Yao. Participants focused on the future trajectory of China–U.S. relations, cross-Strait tensions and the Taiwan question, as well as the strategic dimensions of economic and technological competition between the two countries.
