On November 16, 2025, the Shanghai Association of American Studies (SAAS) convened its Sixth General Assembly at the Center for American Studies, Fudan University. Wu Xinbo, Dean of the Institute of International Studies (IIS Fudan) and Director of the Center for American Studies, was re-elected President of the SAAS. Song Guoyou, Professor at the Center for American Studies, was re-elected Vice President of the SAAS.

Wang Weisong, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Full-time Vice President of the Shanghai Federation of Social Sciences Associations (SFSSA), attended the assembly. In his remarks, Wang expressed the hope that the newly elected council, under Prof. Wu’s leadership, would play an active role in advancing American studies and promoting China–U.S. exchanges.

During the academic session on China–U.S. relations, Prof. Wu reviewed and summarized the phases and key features of bilateral relations in 2025, offered an outlook for 2026, and engaged in a lively discussion with members on issues related to China–U.S. relations.
