The CNKI China Science Literature Metrology and Evaluation Research Center (“CNKI Evaluation Center”) recently released its list of 2025 High-Impact Academic Jikan, and the Fudan American Review was once again recognized among the top titles. The Fudan American Review ranked first in both Area Studies and Political Science, reaffirming its leading position in both disciplines. Jikan is a kind of collection of papers, which published as one volume with ISBN.

The rankings are based on the Jikan Impact Index, a metric developed by the CNKI Evaluation Center that incorporates two key quantitative indicators: citation frequency and download frequency. Jikan selected for the list are drawn from across the China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) database. The initiative aims to provide an objective assessment of Jikan influence and to highlight the academic value of leading Chinese publications.
As of 2025, CNKI indexes 1,354 humanities and social sciences Jikan across 17 disciplinary fields. A total of 191 Jikan were identified as 2025 High-Impact Academic Jikan. Among them, Fudan American Review ranked third overall, across all disciplines.
Founded in 2001, Fudan American Review is published by the Center for American Studies, Fudan University, and remains China’s only academic Jikan dedicated exclusively to American studies and China–U.S. relations. It has been repeatedly selected as a source Jikan for the Chinese Social Sciences Citation Index (CSSCI) and is widely recognized for its scholarly rigor and international relevance.
