On the morning of June 13, Philip Howard Gordon, the Mary and David Boies senior fellow in U.S. foreign policy at the Council on Foreign Relations, former Acting Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs Susan A. Thornton, Laura Michelle Rosenberger, Director of the Alliance for Securing Democracy and a senior fellow at The German Marshall Fund of the United States, Kenneth Jarrett, President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai,Senior Advisor to Albright Stonebridge Group, former Director of Asian Affairs at the White House National Security Council and Greater China Chairman for APCO Worldwide, visited the Center for American Studies(CAS) at Fudan University, engaging in exchanges with the research fellows on the status quo of Sino-U.S. relations. Professor WU Xinbo, Director of the Center for American Studies and Dean of the Institute of International Studies at Fudan University moderated the event. Professor XIN Qiang, Deputy Director of CAS, Professor CAI Cuihong, Professor WEI Zongyou, Associate Professor WANG Xiaofeng, Professor XIANG Lanxin, Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva, and David Rennie, Beijing bureau chief and author of "Chaguan" column at The Economist presented attendance at the symposium.
