From October 21-22, 2023, the Annual Conference of the Chinese Association of Asia-Pacific Studies Cum Academic Conference on The Asia-Pacific in Turmoil and Change: Opportunities and Challenges was successfully held by the Chinese Association of Asia-Pacific Studies and the Center for Asia-Pacific Cooperation and Governance at Fudan University jointly at the Center for American Studies at Fudan University. The conference brought together a wide array of academics and experts to share insights and research.
Distinguished academics, including Professor Ma Yugang, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Vice President of Fudan University, and Li Xiangyang, President of the Chinese Association of Asia-Pacific Studies, inaugurated the conference with their insightful speeches. Researcher Wang Yuzhu, Secretary-General of the association, facilitated the opening ceremony.
The conference featured six keynote speakers of high esteem: Prof. Wu Xinbo, Dean of the Institute of International Studies at Fudan University; Chen Weiguang, professor at Guangdong University of Foreign Studies and Editor-in-Chief of International Economics and Trade Exploration; Prof. Li Ping of Shandong University of Technology; Prof. Wei Ling from the University of International Business and Economics; Prof. Song Guoyou, Deputy Director of the Center for American Studies; and researcher Wang Yuzhu from the National Institute of International Strategy at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
Structured into six segments — the opening ceremony, keynote addresses, group discussions, exchange sessions, the Second Standing Executive Council meeting of 2023, and the closing — the conference drew nearly 200 faculty and students from over 50 institutions across China. Esteemed institutions such as the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Fudan University, Renmin University of China, Jilin University, Wuhan University, Shandong University, the University of International Business and Economics, Shanghai International Studies University, and Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, etc. were represented.
