Biography
Xiaoyu Wang received her B.A. and M.A. degrees in Arabic Language and Literature, and her Ph.D. in Economics. Since June 2023, she has been serving at the Center for Middle Eastern Studies, Institute of International Studies, Fudan University.
She has completed one National Social Science Fund Youth Project, one project commissioned by a Shanghai key think tank, one China Postdoctoral Science Foundation General Program project, and one commissioned research project.
She has published one academic monograph, Research on China’s Exports and Investment in the Middle East from the Perspective of Informal Institutions (China Social Sciences Press, 2024). As sole author or first author, she has published more than ten articles in journals and newspapers including Middle East Policy (SSCI, JCR Q1, 2025), Middle East Critique (SSCI, JCR Q1, 2025), Asian Journal of Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies (ESCI, JCR Q2, 2025), Contemporary International Relations, Global Review, West Asia and Africa, Arab World Studies, and Guangming Daily.
She has also been interviewed by domestic and international media outlets including People’s Daily, Global Times, China Daily, Shanghai Daily, Xinmin Evening News, Xinhua News Agency, The Paper, and Cairo News.
