On the afternoon of August 24, 2019, the Fourth Academic Committee of Center for American Studies at Fudan University, as one of the Key Research Institutes of Humanities and Social Sciences in University nationwide, held its first plenary convention.
Professor WU Xinbo, Director of the Center for American Studies and Dean of the Institute of International Studies at Fudan University briefed on the continuous progress achieved in the scope of building think tanks, conducting academic researches, cooperative exchanges as well as the key research directions. The CAS Academic Committe members highly appraised the accomplishments scored over the past four years and the endeavours allocated by the previous Academic Committee members. At the interface of the fundamentals in relation to research paths, the CAS Academic Committee members put forward major recommendations and earnest anticipations for the prospective research directions, key topics, personnel team building as well as international exchanges in the next couple of years.
The Fourth Academic Committee of Center for American Studies at Fudan University comprises Professor WU Baiyi, Chief of the Institute of American Studies Affiliated to Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Rear Admiral YAO Yunzhu from Academy of Military Sciences PLA China, Professor YUAN Peng, Dean of China Institutes of Contemporary International Studies, Professor CHEN Dongxiao,Dean of Shanghai Institute for International Studies, Professor HUANG Renwei, Director of the Shanghai Institutes for International Studies Academic Committee, Professor LIU Zhongmin, Director of the Middle East Studies Institute of Shanghai International Studies University, Professor WU Xinbo,Director of the Center for American Studies and Dean of the Institute of International Studies, Professor XIN Qiang, Deputy Director of the Center for American Studies and Professor SONG Guoyou, Deputy Director of the Center for American Studies at Fudan University. Professor CHEN Dongxiao was elected Chair unanimously to the Acadmic Committee. The current term of the Fourth Academic Committee of CAS spans the duration of January 2019 to December 2022.
