On the afternoon of November 22, 2024, the Center for American Studies at Fudan University (CAS Fudan) hosted the Current Sino-American Relations and Shanghai Urban Development Shanghai Think Tank Forum (2024). The forum primarily analyzed the impact of the new U.S. government’s administration on the urban development of Shanghai. Professor Wu Xinbo, Director of CAS Fudan, delivered the opening speech. Sha Hailin, former member of the Standing Committee of the Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), former Minister of the United Front Work Department of CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, and Chairman of the Shanghai Public Relations Association, gave the keynote speech on current Sino-American relations. Wang Zhan, Chairman of the Shanghai Federation of Social Sciences Associations, discussed the topic of the new U.S. government’s relationship with Shanghai’s development as an international metropolis. Experts and scholars from organizations such as the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai, Shanghai Development Research Foundation, Shanghai Institute of American Studies, Shanghai Institute for Science of Science, and Fudan University engaged in discussions on topics including investment, trade, industry, technology, and local exchanges. Professor Song Guoyou, Deputy Director of CAS Fudan, provided the concluding remarks.
