The Center for American Studies at Fudan University (CAS Fudan) successfully convened the seminar Globalization, China, and the World on April 26-27, 2024. Esteemed scholars from ten countries—including China, the U.S., the U.K., Russia, India, Germany, Egypt, Brazil, Nigeria, and Singapore—participated in this international gathering. They delved into critical shifts in international political economics, addressing geopolitical splits, escalating superpower rivalries, the ascent of the Global South, and rising anti-globalization and deglobalization movements. These discussions examined the implications of these changes for the international order and global governance, alongside exploring strategies to bolster international cooperation and multilateralism in this evolving context.
The seminar featured two prominent public dialogues titled Global Governance in an Age of Fracture and China’s Changing Relations with the Rest of the World, both of which fostered vibrant interactions with attendees.
