On December 9-10, 2024, the Center for American Studies at Fudan University (CAS Fudan), in collaboration with the China Institute for International Strategic Studies (CIISS), hosted an academic symposium titled China-US Relations in a Turbulent Era. The symposium gathered scholars and experts from both China and the United States, representing prestigious institutes such as Fudan University, the CIISS, Peking University, Tsinghua University, Renmin University of China, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences Institute of American Studies, the China National Institute for South China Sea Studies, Shanghai Institutes for International Studies, Johns Hopkins University, Georgetown University, Stanford University, Yale University, Brown University, the University of Pennsylvania, the Stimson Center, and the University of Hawaii.
The symposium was held in a hybrid format, allowing both online and in-person participation. Scholars engaged in in-depth discussions on three key topics: The US Election and Its Impact on China-US Relations: Opportunities and Challenges, Geopolitical Risks in China-US Relations, and The China-US Tech Rivalry: Progress and Prospects.
